day #3
Yesterday was the adventurous and challenging day of the trip…so far atleast. A not as early as we wanted hike up the amazing Diamond Head tested our strength and balance on unlevel, broken up rock paths. The sun wasn’t our friend either. After an hour and forty minutes, and almost 4miles of winding and weaving we were finished and hopped on a bus that took us around the SE edges of Oahu. We were taken past Sandy Beach, Waimaia Beach, lush country-side, countless mountain ranges, a Costco. Went deep into the south villages and got to see a little bit of rural Hawaii. We definitely hope to get to North Shore and experience Hawaii away from all the tourists. ended the day with the Paradise Cove luau. an entertaining guide, Cousin Bronson kept us all in the mix as we drove a half hr out to the site. beautiful hula dancers and the best pulled pork ever ensued. watch out for a drink called a Tropical Itchy…which sounds a mistake after too many drinks, but was on point. back to the hotel. try to sleep over the death metal open-mic downstairs. nice to be 17 floors up. get some rest to deal with this time-share presentation in the AM…hey anything for free dinner cruises and snorkelling. peace.
